I think the philosopher Voltaire was the most contributive to the Untied States. He influenced natural law and reason. That helped today by creating a stable government and his followers wanted to spread his ideas as well.
Montesquieu was by far the most influential philosopher over the government of the United States. His ideas and observations have formed what we all know as the American government today.
